K&F CONCEPT × AMC

Some nights it’s hard to fall asleep.
Some days we feel unusually tired or tense, without quite knowing why.
A growing body of research gently reminds us: the constant light around us plays a part.
Today, because of artificial light, 80% of the world’s population—and 99% of people in the US and Europe—can no longer see a full, unspoiled starry sky.
Excessive artificial light at night doesn’t just disrupt human sleep and well-being; it also disorients nocturnal animals and confuses migratory birds.
We want the night back—and help protect it.
See the Unseen Dark is a small, heartfelt project by K&F CONCEPT and the Appalachian Mountain Club.
It is not a competition—no rankings, no judging.
Just a simple invitation:Look for darkness free from the artificial light. Capture it. Share it.
Any photo related to natural darkness is welcome:
starry skies, moonlight, aurora borealis, fireflies, or simply your room after you switch off the lights.
Phone or camera, anything is welcome—every image matters, and quietly supports efforts to protect night skies around the world.
As a gentle thank-you, we’ll send some night-photography gear from K&F CONCEPT to a few of the people who join us.
Together, we can keep the night alive.

What Is Our Value

See the Unseen.
Through the lens, we see the shared world in its truest form.
This is not just a slogan—it is the core value of K&F CONCEPT.
Today, the “unseen” is the night sky that has been swallowed by artificial light.
In true darkness, the Milky Way rests unseen—drifting above the paths of nocturnal creatures.
It has never vanished;it has only retreated into the last remaining pockets of darkness on Earth, quietly waiting for us to bring it back.
See the Unseen Dark.Let the night be seen again.

Who Is AMC

Founded in 1876, the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) is the oldest outdoor organization in the United States. What began as a small group exploring and protecting the White Mountains of New Hampshire has grown into a vibrant community of over 90,000 members and 2,700 volunteers, spanning 12 chapters from Maine to Washington, D.C.
For nearly 150 years, AMC has inspired people to connect with nature — not only by exploring it, but by protecting it. Through hiking, backpacking, kayaking, climbing, cycling, and countless other adventures, AMC helps people discover the beauty of the outdoors while advocating for the preservation of the lands we love.
From volunteers teaching outdoor skills to public efforts preserving trails and skies, AMC continues to lead the way in ensuring everyone can experience the outdoors — today and for generations to come. Whether you’re taking your first step on a trail or you’ve spent a lifetime exploring, there’s a place for you at AMC.
