Canon Rumors (CR) received a spy photo of a new Canon camera. CR spent considerable time carefully examining the image and is confident that it is not an APS-C camera like the EOS R7 Mark II, but rather the EOS R6 Mark III.

The following is CR's analysis of the spy photo:

Electronic Viewfinder Bump and Eyecup

The first thing we notice is the EVF bump, which resembles the sharp, angular shape of the EOS R7. However, due to the angle of the image, the size and perspective may be distorted. Further inspection reveals that the eyecup is larger and has a different shape than those on Canon's APS-C cameras. This leads CR to rule out the possibility that it is the EOS R7 Mark III.

Strap Mount

All Canon APS-C EOS R cameras feature a silver strap mount, but this one is black—a hallmark of Canon's current full-frame mirrorless cameras. Scratches on the black strap mount are not noticeable.

Recording Indicator

If you're not mistaken, the right side of the camera in the image appears to have a recording indicator. This is a new feature introduced in the Canon EOS R camera.

Blue Logo

A blue icon can be seen near the M-Fn button, mirroring the design of the EOS R5 Mark 1 and EOS R1 (cropped blue icon). CR believes this is not an image anomaly.

Release Prediction

It's worth anticipating that these rumors usually indicate a product release in the near future. Analysts suggest that Canon is likely to hold a new product launch event around November 16th or November 26th. In addition to the EOS R6 Mark 2 camera, Canon will also release four lenses, with the RF 45mm F1.2 STM, RF 20-50mm F4 PZ, RF 300-600mm F4-5.6 LIS USM, and RF 24-70mm F2.8 LIS VCM (possibly with a USM focus motor) being relatively likely.
