Ricoh Imaging held a preview event for its new GR product, and many media outlets were fortunate enough to get their hands on the GR4. The specifications were consistent with previously announced specifications.
The GR IV, a complete evolution of the fundamental GR concept, has undergone comprehensive upgrades to key components, including the image sensor, image processing engine, and lens. The GR IV's image sensor boasts an effective pixel count increased to nearly 26 million, and the lens has been completely redeveloped, featuring a 7-element, 5-group, and 3 aspherical lens elements.
The GR IV features 5-axis in-body image stabilization, and its internal memory has increased from approximately 2GB to approximately 53GB.
The GR IV also adds two new customizable filters, green and yellow, to the existing 12 built-in image control styles.
The GR IV measures approximately 109.4mm (width) x 61.1mm (height) x 32.7mm (depth) (excluding controls and protrusions). The camera itself weighs only 228g, and 262g with the battery and SD card.
Compared to the GR II, the size has been further reduced, while the button layout maintains the intuitive, fast, and easy-to-use advantages of its predecessor. The handle has also been improved compared to previous models, further enhancing the grip.
