Fujifilm X-Pro4
Fujifilm has confirmed that it is developing a successor to the Fujifilm X-Pro3, but beyond the fact that both the company and consumers have “very high expectations” for it, little else is known about this former flagship model. So what will the Fujifilm X-Pro4 look like? First of all, I don’t think it will necessarily be called that. As with the Fujifilm X-T50, what we may actually see is a Fujifilm X-Pro5. It could even end up being named the X-Pro6.
Fujifilm X-T500 / X-A50 / X-A8
Although Fujifilm has appeared in recent years to have stepped away from the entry-level camera market, the success of the X-M5 and the introduction of the X-T30 II suggest that it hasn’t completely abandoned this segment—and there are rumors that Fujifilm may place even greater focus on appealing to this market.
Fujifilm has several suitable models that could be revived, but the X-T200, X-A20, and X-A7 feel like the most likely candidates for successors. Among them, the X-A7 may be the best choice. While all three overlap to some extent with the X-T30 and X-M5 in terms of features, the X-A7 feels more lively and playful, which makes it stand out as particularly distinctive.
Fujifilm XF2 / XO3
Thanks to the success of the X100 series, Fujifilm has become a leader in the compact camera market. However, the X100 line is positioned at the high end—while other brands are aggressively moving into the affordable compact camera segment currently dominated by Kodak.
No Fujifilm Film Camera?
Despite the massive revival of film cameras, with many iconic brands—from Polaroid to Kodak—returning to the market, Fujifilm has no plans to release a new film camera of its own.
So the conclusion is this: a company that once made film cameras, and still manufactures film today, may very well never produce a new film camera again.
