Nikon's new ZRC camera is expected to be released in the fourth quarter of 2026. It will be an APS-C format entry-level video camera, following the design philosophy of the Nikon ZR, featuring a similar lightweight body to the Z30. It will lack an electronic viewfinder (EVF) and a mechanical shutter, and will compete with the Canon EOS R50 V. It will be equipped with the same 20-megapixel APS-C sensor as the Z50I, an EXPEED 7 processor, and the Z9 autofocus algorithm. It will not support in-body 5-axis image stabilization, and will record 4K 60p video (cropped) and 1080p 120fps video, recording for 125 minutes without overheating. It will support Type-CPD fast charging, have a single SD card slot, and use an EN-EL25a battery, providing approximately 75 minutes of 4K video recording time. According to sources, the engineering sample is currently being optimized and is expected to be released to photographers for testing in 2026.
