Rumor has it that OM SYSTEM's new OM-5II camera may be released on June 17. According to reliable sources, OM STSTEM is preparing to release a new camera on June 17 this year, which is presumably an iterative model of OM5. The source also confirmed that the new camera will be equipped with a stacked sensor.
This upgrade is probably because EU countries no longer allow new cameras with USB 3.0 protocol to continue to be sold. The specific upgrade parameters of OM SYSTEM OM-5II are still unclear.
According to conventional speculation, the price and number of focus points of OM-5II will be lower than OM-3, and it will be equipped with a USB-C charging port, and there may not be an electronic GND.
Another potential possibility is that the OM-5II will not be updated except for the charging port, but the price will remain unchanged.
The micro 43 system has not had any updates to lenses or sensors for a long time. Some people say that the number of megapixels of micro 43 sensors has reached its limit, and it is likely that there will be no major upgrades. In comparison, APS-C format cameras are a more mainstream choice.
