Rumors suggest Nikon may release a new compact full-frame mirrorless camera without an ECF viewfinder, focusing on still photography. The leak claims it's expected to launch sometime in 2026, based on the Nikon ZR (possibly the previously rumored photography version of the ZRC). The rumored specifications are as follows: No built-in electronic viewfinder (EVF); Detachable external electronic viewfinder (EVF); Dual physical dials; High-resolution full-frame image sensor; No in-body image stabilization (IBIS); No video recording capability? (I personally think this is unlikely); Flip-up OLED screen; Body design similar to the ZR, focusing on still photography, no video recording; Compact body, only 22-25mm thick; Available in black, champagne gold, and black and white.
This new camera can be seen as a successor to Nikon's DL series, fitting the current popularity of compact and fixed-lens cameras.
