Sigma 200mm F2 DG OS Lens Patent Publicated

On October 28th, Sigma's patent application P2025162727 was published. It includes an optical system believed to be for a 200mm F2 DG OS lens, and also includes an embodiment that appears to be for a 300mm F2.8 lens.

This is very similar to the optical system of the 200mm F2 DG OS lens scheduled for release in September 2025. Since the patent was filed in April 2024, it can be assumed that research and development had already begun in some form prior to that.

Furthermore, the patent also includes an embodiment for a 300mm F2.8 lens. While this is primarily for the 200mm F2, a 300mm F2.8 lens may have been considered during development.
